Born 1961 in Cheshire, Simon attended Sale Boys Grammar School. He read Politics at Keele University, graduating in 1984.
After a brief period of world travel he became a financial adviser in 1986. He was a founding partner of Holland Hahn & Wills in 1990.
He married Caroline in2001. Caroline is a Consultant Paediatrician at St. Thomas's Hospital. They live in Claygate, Surrey and have two children. Kathryn age 7 and George age 5.
When Simon was younger he travelled extensively around India and South East Asia. He has run several marathons and also climbed Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.
With young children, outside interests are now more limited. He now enjoys competing in Triathlons (training by cycling and running to and from the office), watching rugby, cooking and a recently acquired allotment!
